Lyman-alpha emitters and the 21 cm power spectrum as probes of density–ionization correlation in the epoch of reionization

ABSTRACT Due to the large cross-section of Ly α photons with hydrogen, Lyman-alpha emitters (LAEs) are sensitive presence neutral hydrogen in intergalactic medium (IGM) during epoch reionization (EoR): period Universe’s history where IGM is ionized. The type correlation between ionized regions respect underlying intrinsic LAEs has a pronounced effect on number observed and their apparent clustering. As result, observations EoR can be used as probe morphology. Here, we build previous works parametrize density–ionization EoR, study how density angular function (ACF) depend this parametrization. Using Subaru measurements ACF at z = 6.6, place constraints We find that 6.6 alone cannot distinguish different models $68{{\ \rm per\ cent}}$ credibility. However, adding information regarding density, ACF, 21 cm power spectrum using Epoch Reionization Array mid-point rule out uncorrelated outside-in $99{{\
